Skistore.se was founded in 2004 by the bums Fredrik Haga and Johan Storm, the business was run from St. Anton with the help of relatives and friends in Finspång. In 2006, the first physical store was opened on Kastellgatan in Gothenburg, where e-commerce and the store ended up under the same roof for the first time.
In 2009, the company grew out of the cramped, albeit cozy, premises. The moving load did not go very far and the next store ended up on Skanstorget 6. Skistore would remain here for the next eight years. It was here that the company really grew up and became what it is today.
Ever since the start, it has been skiing joy and passion that has driven our business. The fact that a ski shop was started was simply because it was never an option to work with something that was not connected to skiing. We do our best to let this burning interest shine through in everything we do. From assortment to service and perhaps the most fun part of our job. To be able to ski with our customers.
Our starting point has always been that those who shop with us are like us. We want to sell what we ourselves are tagged on and this has led to us today being, what we consider to be, the most well-stocked and quality-oriented ski shop in Sweden.
In the summer of 2017, we took the next step, it was time to say goodbye to the premises on Skanstorget. But again, we did not feel like moving very far from our familiar neighborhoods. This time we landed about 50m up the street at our current address Övre Husargatan 2. In a twice as large room for both shop, workshop, office and warehouse, we really feel that we have found home.
With the move, it was also time for some other changes in the company. For some, it was time to move on to new challenges, which led to Skistore.se today being owned and operated jointly by us who work in the store every day. With a shared experience from virtually all parts of the skiing world and a burning interest in both products and skiing, we really feel that we now have a really strong team where everyone pulls in the same direction, and the joy of skiing is still in focus.
